Peace Research

Scientific reappraisal of past violence and current conflict situations helps to secure peace.

Coming to terms with social conflicts and discovering new peaceful solutions involves understanding past conflicts and solution models as well as understanding the background of today's conflicts from the respective culture and history.

Historical peace research, the development of realistic scenarios for intra- and inter-state peace dynamics, peace education and political, social science, religious science and psychological insights are necessary elements for sound peace work.

Partner organisations like CIM in Bosnia are working to come to terms with the war-torn past.
