Newsletter May 2024
###USER_name###,
We are delighted to honour Maria Biedrawa and the organisation Connection e.V. as winners of the 11th International Bremen Peace Award of the schwelle Foundation in a festive ceremony at Bremen City Hall on Friday, 31 May 2024. We cordially invite you to attend.
Prior to this, on 12 May, our partner organization Combatants for Peace is inviting people to its "Joint Memorial Ceremony", at which Israelis and Palestinians will jointly commemorate the victims of the conflict. They write: "This year's ceremony will undoubtedly be a historic event. Many of the speakers will be among those who have lost a loved one since 7 October. It is hard to appreciate the courage it takes to not only share your personal story when it is so painful and violent, but also to give hope for peace in such a time of crisis." In Bremen, we invite you to watch the event together online. Participation via Zoom is also possible: Joint Memorial Ceremony
We launched the event series "Peace-logical perspectives and traditions in times of war" very successfully in April with fully occupied event rooms, exciting speakers and intensive discussions. The recordings of the events can be found on our website: Videos of the lecture series.
The next event will take place with Dr Christine Schweitzer on 7 May at 7 pm at the Forum Kirche in Bremen.
We would also like to draw your attention to the report on a visit to SOHRAM-Casra in Diyarbakır, the analyses by Ana Raffai from Croatia on wars, reconciliation and non-violence, and the speeches at the opening of the Palestinian photo exhibition "Inhabited Spaces" by Anette Klasing and Viola Raheb.
With best regards
the schwelle team
