There was a change on the Executive Board of die schwelle Foundation in August: After many years of committed service on the Board and as its Chair, Anette Klasing has stepped down from the Board. She will remain closely connected to the Foundation as a member of its Board of Trustees.
Anette has played a significant role in shaping the Foundation’s work over many years. With a strong commitment to peacebuilding and a clear understanding of the Foundation’s concerns and possibilities, she has worked for peace, justice and the preservation of creation. The Foundation’s work on Israel and Palestine, as well as in South-Eastern Europe, was, and still is particularly close to her heart. She accompanied our exchanges with partner organisations in these regions and was committed to making their perspectives and concerns more visible and supporting their peacebuilding work. We sincerely thank her for her many years of commitment, her time and the many ideas and impulses she has contributed. We are very pleased that she will continue to support the Foundation’s work as a member of the Board of Trustees.
Susanne Korhammer is the new Chair of the Board. She has been a Board member for many years and is very familiar with the Foundation’s work. We are also pleased to welcome a new face to the Board: Beate Löwe-Navarro is moving from the Board of Trustees to the Executive Board, where she will serve as Deputy Chair. We would also like to thank her warmly – both for her work on the Board of Trustees to date and for her willingness to become even more actively involved in the Foundation’s work in the future.
We thank everyone involved for their commitment and look to the future of die schwelle Foundation with confidence. Working for peace and justice requires people who are willing to get involved – and we have them.
