The schwelle Foundation's work is financed through returns on its own assets, grants of the founding families and through individual donations.

Since its inception in 1979, the foundation's assets have increased to 4,745,623 euros. With an annual rate of return, raging from 2 to 2,5 percent, the foundation generated in 2021 about 100,000 euro. In addition, the foundation raises contributions by the founder and donnations that add up to 200,000 euros. Altogether, this means that the schwelle Foundation operates in 2021 with a total annual amount of up to 300,000 euros to finance and support "contributions to peace".
