The schwelle Foundation's work is financed through returns on its own assets, grants of the founding families and through individual donations.

Since its inception in 1979, the foundation's assets have increased to 4,9 million euros. The assets are invested in accordance with the "Guidelines for Ethical and Sustainable Investment” of the Foundation Conditions of investment 

Thanks to an average annual return of 2.5 to 3 per cent and the generous support of donors, the foundation is able to allocate around 300,000 to 350,000 euros each year to peace-building projects and its "contributions to peace".
