Russia's President Putin has launched a war against Ukraine, crossing the country's borders and dramatically violating international law.
The schwelle Foundation supports all organisations and institutions working for a return to peace in Europe. With many others, we call on the Russian government to immediately cease all attacks, declare a ceasefire, withdraw from Ukraine and restore its territorial integrity. All parties involved must return to the negotiating table.
We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine who are suffering from the conflict and whose lives are now threatened. And with the Russian civilian population who oppose the war. We call on European countries to grant asylum to conscientious objectors and deserters from the Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian armies.
We struggle together for a Europe of disarmament, détente and understanding. We urgently need a European peace order in which borders are not moved by force and the security of all people is respected.
