Event: Joint Nakba Remembrance Ceremony

Event 15.5.: The first Nakba Ceremony was held in May 2020 as an online event against the backdrop of the Corona crisis. Today, it has evolved to a staged ceremony held in the Bethlehem region, with a live audience including Palestinians, Israelis, and international guests, and broadcast to tens of thousands of people around the world.

Venue: Online
Date: 15. May
Time: 7.00 pm (Germany) | 8.00 pm (Israel/Palestine)
Host: Combatants for Peace

The Ceremony will offer a unique variety of testimonies, special guest speakers and original artistic expression related to the Nakba and the fate of the Palestinian people.

The joint Nakba Ceremony expresses the belief of Combatants for Peace that reconciliation, freedom and respect for everyone living between the Jordan River and the sea involves a sincere and emotional confrontation with the past. Only then is it possible to use the past as a source of inspiration to envisage a peaceful future without occupation and full of optimism.

(For security purposes, the link to join the live Nakba Remembrance Ceremony, will be shared closer to the event)
